Default A/C Causes Blower Motor Fuse to Blow 1988

Hi,

Fuse no 14 (defroster relay, blower motor, ???) blows whenever a/c is turned on. At first, I thought this was a blower motor problem bc every time I turned the fan on I simultaneous had the a/c running. Turns out the bm is fine as it will run forever as long as the a/c isn't turned on. The minute the a/c button is hit the fuse blows and the blower motor shuts down.

I'm hoping this is a bm relay problem but concerned that the compressor might be the source. Any ideas? Thanks!

when i was in auto school i kept being assigned to a 1987 integra with HVAC issues. god this car made baby jesus cry. it was an electical issue, caused by wires that shorted out further up in the harness. the owner, a very low income teacher's aid, asked us to just make the HVAC system not blow hot air. we had to somehow rig the system so it would NOT use the portions of the HVAC without blowing hot air. our professor, knowing we were the smart kids in the class made us do it with only the existing parts on the car.

so i feel the pain.

look at your switches and how they operate, its not uncommon for those to take a dump as they're old.
