Default Question on pistons/rods

Im going to turbo my b18b, i wish to play this safe, and get more power out of my engine then jsut turboing it and calling it good... I want to seal the deck and change the pistons to some forged weiseco's o something of that nature.. Now as for the rods.. Would i really need to change my rods? i thought honda's stock rods were already strong enough to withstand the rigors of turbocharging... maybe they arent??

Oh in the end i plan to go .. well, i suppose 18 or so.. going to make it very adjustable so im not stressing my engine all the time.. Im still learning about turboing my integra.. so if im an idiot bout somthing just tell me What do you mean by getting the rods "shotpeened" im not entirely sure what you mean by that.

18psi?!?!?! u gonna make that teg a track only car?

if you plan on going 18 lbs, forget the stock rods, you need stronger aftermarket rods. and you will definitely need new pistons also.

shotpeening is a method done to the rods to reinforce the metal's strength.

ugh thats a good point, i dunno what i want to do with it.. i dunno if i want to make it a "track only car" or just something thats fast and street legal, and let me smoke most other cars.. 12lbs should be more reasonable.. now where to get a turbo that puts out 12 lbs, and isnt too expensive

nonono, you dont find a turbo that "puts out 12psi"..... the "average" boost is roughly 5-7psi on a T3 or a TD04 size turbo.... a t3/t4 hybrid turbo is getting popular as well. anyway, the boost level on a given turbo puts out different power as opposed to the same "boost" on a different turbo, may it be larger or smaller size. im no turbo expert, but you dont simply find "a turbo that puts out 12psi"... you get a turbo that will accomplish the power goals and performance of your engine and then boost accordingly to what you have built.

i think it is all in the boost setting that you will do through the electronics that you have in your dash that is made by apexi. Heh i havent done any homework on turbos in a long time.
