Default Update on 98 GSR

What's happening peoples. Chilling watching the NBA playoffs Lakers vs Nuggets.
I'll keep it simple as possible. Ordred a new dizzy on Fri & had it installed today.Car haven't been running since Dec. Now because it sat my battery was dead. I now need a battery & getting one on Fri. Because of the battery my stock radio won't come on unless I have the code. I looked in my folder of what the original owner gave me of all history/maintnence etc. I can't find it anywhere. I called 2 different Acura dealers up to see how to get the code. They told me they would charge $100 to take out radio to look for serial number & call Honda Motor Co. for code.
If I'm going to pay $100 it'll be for a after market. Is there any way to find out without taking radio out. It was a boring ride home no sound.

Any help gladly appreciated

yeah just get an aftermarket head unit. without any dealer connections, you're going to be paying money somehow. the stock unit is obsolete anyway.

Yeah I agree. I just wasn't trying to spend that type of money off the break since my Dizzy set me back $250. I'll get one soon. Might just drive the EF for a few weeks.

check in your glove box...the code is there. its not hard to take out the radio and call the acura dealer to get the code. all you do is read them the seriel number. i got an integra cd player from my friend and put it in my accord and i called the acura dealer and they gave me the code and thats it....free! they also told me that the code is inside the glove box but that wasnt the radio for my car so it wouldnt have worked.

I would try another dealer or just pull the radio out. Its not that difficult to remove...you just need an 8mm socket.

Yeah, as far as the serial number. It's no where to be found. Looked in glove box empty, pulled ash tray out to take a chance nothing. No card. I'm pissed that the owner gave me a folder that's very detailed but no radio code.
So do I have to remove the whole console for the radio?

Had Sears install a new battery today. . She's good to go. Just have to jump on the radio now.
Thanks
