Default turbo/supercharged auto

just kinda wondern, if i saw a supercharged ls auto the other day & was wonderin how much hp he or anybody would be pushin out of a supercharged or turbo auto, the guy was claiming to be running above 230hp to the wheels. i was thinking this the other day, i know 5 is better than auto in some casses, but auto is good in the sence that you dont have to worry about mis-shifting-if your a bad driver; quuiker shifts = possibly better et times; etc. So back to the main q- would a supercharger/turbochager be better in a auto or a 5 speed?

5 speed, definitely. You'd have more control over shift points and timing. Really good drives can actually shift faster than a stock Honda auto tranny. I think I know who you're talking about though...

Unless your car is a Supra Turbo or something of that nature, a 5-speed will be faster than an auto. Of course if you're willing to spend big bucks, an auto Integra will ultimately be more consistent and just as fast.

the reason why i asked this is because i already drive a 94 5peed, with bolt-ons, & i got an amazing deal on a 98 gs-auto, (less than 5000), so i ask one of my friends, & he said that its possible to turbo/supercharge an auto, however, more money. so i was thinking is it cheaper to do it on a 5-speed or an auto.
ALSO - what do you guys think is a good supercharger - comtech-vortec - jet - Etc . . . .
Thanks for the replys

Your 94 5-speed with a turbo pushing 6 psi will spank a 98 gs auto with a turbo pushing 6 psi all day, any day. Your friend said it's more expensive to turbo an auto tranny B18b...he meant it would take much more money to run the SAME times as a 5-speed B18b.

Supercharging an LS has proved to be a dissapointing route for most in terms of power; go with a turbo, and try searching the forum for F/I posts.
