Default Short shifter in the teg

Has anyone installed a short shifter in the teg? Does it matter what brand? Is there a big difference when shifting? and How complicated is it to install?

brand is really up to the buyer, I see no difference between the DC Sports & the no name brand on eBay. there both made of T-6061 billet Aluminum, and there both shorter than stock, so basically your buying the name for $30 more.

to install you will have to remove a small section of your exhaust, remove it right by you Cat...then remove the hanger a little bit farther down, then the exhaust will be laying on the ground, BUT still attached to the car, next remove the heat shield, remove the bolts holding the stock shifter on, it can then be removed from the bottom, then install you short shifter, then you will be able to shift QUICKER and you will have a lower 0-60 and 1/4mile times.

don't get an aluminum shifter. they're very likely to snap. get steel, like neuspeed or skunk2.. more expensive, but they're strong, and fitment is better anyway.

With my g2i i had to cut out a portion of my heat shield for my shifter to work correctly, anyone else had this problem?

i used to have a skunk2 a couple years ago, but it rattled so I changed to a neuspeed. It is by far one of the better ones out on the market. It's worth the extra money IMO. This was brought up some time ago and a lot of people like neuspeed or B&M....
