Default mugen catback?

i have a friend with a 99 GSR and hes wondering if the mugen sports catback is worth the 950+ dollars. says it dynoed the highest in power and torque over hks greddy and apexi. does anyone have experience with this exhaust? is it supposedly "the best" as some others claim it to be?

well if you think about it does just one mugen catback give more power then a cai/h/cat/cheap exhaust. you can get all of these and blow just an exhaust out of the picture. You got to think about these things.

What happens if the same thing was combined with the mugen sport catback
you have to think of things like this
What are the specs on this exhaust?

i guess it all depends on your money but really there is a cheaper way of doing it rather than going with nitrous. Ill tell you this much if him and I make the same money and he spent like that I would have the faster ride cause with 950 dollars i would complete my air flow and start on cams while he is still saving for an air intake and header and cat. Just my opinion. Yes you have a point what if you put all of the best brands together well see by that time it would cost around 3000 so I would simply take 3000 and buy a good ole turbo and well fi and na are two different stories.

stupid... yes Mugen is awesome...so...an exhaust as long as its well constructed is just that. a well constructed exhaust and Mugen isnt the "best" performer out of all the companies offered. to drop almost a grand on a catback exhaust is ridiculous. you can get a RACE titanium built exhaust for the same price...and street parts are never the same as race only parts. a Mugen exhaust is badass yes. worth the money? depends if you think bragging rights of owning one is worth a $1000.

my friend has a mugen catback and hes worked with different car parts and fabrication himself. the mugen exhaust is the BEST quality exhaust you can get for your honda/acura.

the welding style that mugen uses is way better than all the other afternmarket ones. i think they use "tig" welding vs. other companies that use an easier style of weld. Tig welds take much longer to do and result in a much stronger and high quality weld.

yes, it is really expensive and i would probably take an alternative cuz i dont have that kind of money to burn, but it is high quality. depends on how much u have to spend and how far u're gonna take it.

Are we talking about the Mugen twinloop here?

The best performing aftermarket cat-back I've seen is the Hytech full-exhaust system.
