The cams in the ITR had a little bigger duration, so VTEC was moved to 6000rpm, where as it's at 4400 in the GSR because of the slightly different cams and dual stage intake manifold.

Redline for the GSR is 8000rpm, ITR had a slightly bigger redline, because of the powerband from the cams and intake.

The trans in the ITR is also a B16 trans, but with a factory helictical LSD unit.

In all, The B18C1 and B18C5 are the same motor, but with a better flowing head, slightly bumped compression and shorter geared trans.

on the dot.

the ITR pistons also had moly coatings on the skirts, the valvesprings were dual valvesprings and the valvetrain had lost motion assemblies. the motor mounts were supposedly stiffer too. theres more to it than that, but snakes got most of the good info.

The B18C1 has LMA's, but the ITR's were a little stiff to acomodate the slight more aggressive cams. I forgot to mention the dual valve springs. h:

Motor mounts for the GSR and ITR were the same, they were different between the non-vtec models though, because the GSR and ITR came with braced torque mounts.

This is the non vtec torque mount:

And here's the torque mount for the GSR and ITR.. the different is the little "brace" to make it more solid, the inner section is ripped out of this one.

Oh hi, lookie at what torque mounts I ordered

what the weird, my torque mounts have those braces, as well as my old LS.

Hmmm... I don't know then. I know of LS owners replacing their's with the ITR or GSR ones.

well then again my first LS was a 2000, with all the weird updates.

and my current one is a GS, with all the GSR parts and specs except the motor, so who knows.

The ones from my 97 GS

Ummm...... I thought ALL VTEC heads had lost motion devices. So for the most part I was right about the differences between the GSR and ITR(specifics are cool to know though)?

Nobody was born knowing everything.

You dont need a VTEC motor to have a great Integra, like in your case.

The Type R body has many weight and structural differences as well...not that it matters too much though.

They do.. The H-series uses a spring type LMA. The ITR and GSR uses a hydraulic LMA, but they were a little stiffer in the ITR to aid the slightly more aggressive cams.

weight has all to do with it, lighter car with better power output yummy taste of dirt, most stock itr's came without radios, sound proofing, itr inside is a very loud ride compared to other integra models, it is why the car was so quick also
