Default Illuminas vs. Yellows

I've decided that I can no longer have car that looks as if it's ready to go off roading. I've spent the last week talking to everyone and researching coilovers and springs and shocks. I've decided to go with Ground Control coilovers. Now all I have to decided is which shock I want.

I would love to hear from people who have the Tokico Illumas or the Koni Yellows. I know the Konis will be a stiffer ride, but I've heard they are more durable, and since I plan on keeping at least a 2" drop I'm on my car I'm thinking that might be good. Then again I know people who are very happy with the Illuminas.

So please if you have them please let me know how they feel!

Thanks

I would highly recommend Koni shocks w/ Koni-specific GC adjustable coilovers. I rode in my friend's CRX w/ Illuminas on full stiff, and I didn't even notice anything, not any more stiff than my Konis set to only 1/2-way stiff. I had even forgotten that he had aftermarket shocks. Go w/ Koni!

Thanks for the opinions! I'm leaning more towards the yellows...I'd rather do it right the 1st time rather than having to go back and do it all over again.

The reason why I recommend the Koni yellows w/ GC's is because of the adapter on the GC that sits on the ring on the Koni shock body (you leave the Koni spring perch off entirely, much cleaner look). Plus the Yellows can probably handle higher spring rates than the Reds can (not to mention the yellows can be re-valved to handle even HIGHER spring rates).

well do you think that koni red's w/ skunk 2 coilovers would hold up well and give a good ride?
