1000 is the bare minimum i woudl expect for a decent job and that will prob have some runs in it too.. 2000 and youll be happy, 3-6 and you better baby the sucker or else a little ding or scratch will make you cry... i would never spend more than 2 gs on a paint job cuz i honestly dont need a hand sanded paintjob.. but yeah 2 gs is a good price for a good job.. and if youre not happy you can alawyas complain hehe

I dont know where you guys live, but those prices are ankle-grabbers. ....in Philadelphia.....a sh*tty job will cost about 500$, but for 1000, you get a nice job (everything except the engine bay). I mean jeez, for 3k, I know 3 shops in North Philadelphia that will give you a nice coat of chameleon paint !

Thanks, DelSolSIinMD
I'll check out some of those places. Scuderi Auto Body on 355 has done wonders with other cars of mine that have been in accidents, so I may talk to them as well.

As for the $3K paintjobs, I've heard of them here in MD too. It all depends on if they are removing the old paint or not and what kind of prep work (masking, removing parts, etc) goes into the job. For $500 anyone will throw new paint on old paint. $3K is the link of paint job you'd need on a historic car you're restoring.

I've heard great things about Scuderi, but I have no first hand experience, so I didn't want to hazard a guess. A friend with a 3000GT SL really liked them - a LOT. I'm not sure if they painted that car, or his Honda (an Accord).

And yeah, I've also heard of the everything-included 3K paint job... but that's a little excessive for just repainting a stock color. We're not talking future show car here, are we?

I've used them a few times - not on the 'Teg, though. Thankfully. And they do insurance work, if you need a good place when some other moron wrecks your car.

Not this car! Maybe the 'Cuda in my garage, though.

I had a puke green teg and I painted it for 850 plus 150 for wet sanding. that included fiberglass work. Find a local shop. The clear is very important i have learned. To make it perfect it must be wetsanded.
