Default Water in Trunk

Sorry to revive an old subject; but I could use some help. I have a stock 91 teg that has been babied all of its life. Being that my daughter drives it at college I didn't notice that it is accumulating water in the trunk.

Two things; it appears to be coming from the passenger side (as the drivers side stays dry).

I would like to try easy first and try to check the sunroof drain. Can someone describe where I might find the drain hose from the outside of the car? I've checked around the rear passenger tire but can't seem to find it. Secondly, can someone tell me how to access from inside the hatch? Must I take out the trim panels? If so, any tips for taking apart?

Thanks much for the help,

Bob

Yes you should have to remove the trim. Sorry, I have not worked on a 91 before. Another place to check, and more common leak point, is the tail light seals. You have to remove the tail light to replace the seals so I am assuming you have to remove the trim first.

Thanks for the reply, it appears that you are correct that it is coming from the taillights. I poured a glass of water in the sunroof rails and watched the water drain successfully from the front and back sunroof drains.

I will go ahead and remove the lights and replace the gaskets.
