Hey everyone.. Just thought I would ask if anyone has ever had or would know anything about a peculiar rattle noise in my front passenger dash.. I have had a friend help locate it but I have no idea how to fix. I wish I had a picture but I will describe.. from the air duct vent on the dash you move over about 3 inches and then press one finger lightly on the dash and the rattle goes away.. tried banging on it but don't like this approach other than this no rattles not even the typical hatch or roof.... any thoughts would be great on fixing the dash rattle. thanks...

You can also wrap the 'U' shaped bracket on the hatch in electrical tape, which gives the same effect.

My 96 Teg always rattles somewhere. The worst is the hatch rattling and the windows rattling when halfway down.

The hatch rattle did go away with wrapping the U bracket in electrical tape, but now its back and the electrical tape has started to wear down and become mushed up. Has to be a more permanent fix.... I don't think my two rubber stoppers loosen at all, but I'll look after work.

As for the windows, either ride with em up or all the way down or blast the stereo so you don't hear it as much. I just don't have the desire to rip my door panels off to fix the rattle.

ANYONE else have a rattling moonroof?? It doesn't leak or anything, but rattles when its open.

When I first start my car (cold start after sitting a while), there's this "Grrrrrrrr" for 2 seconds right in front of the passenger seat. Still not sure what's causing this rattle. Oh well, I still love my Teg.

For the hatch rattle, wrap some electrical tape around the lock-loop on the hatch. That solves it quickest and quietest.

The door rattle is caused by weatherstripping falling off inside your door panel. Takes no more than 30 minutes to fix. PM me if you want step-by-step help.

My moonroof doesn't rattle, so no help here...

and that "grrrrr" noise is coming from the ABS compressor. Don't worry about it unless it happens frequently (like every 10-15 minutes). It most often happens to me if I was driving around on a hot day, and I start the car during a cold morning...

Does anyone else have the following problem...whenever my car is carrying alot of weight (i.e. 2 or more passengers), after they get out i hear a creeping sound coming from the springs. My suspension is also stock. I believe its because the added weight is putting more pressure on the springs and when they get out its the springs settling back. It's been bugging me for awhile, but still don't know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have the hatch rattle. My passanger door squeaks (down by the speaker). My roof rattles around the dome light. The plastic sheild in front of my gauges rattle BAD (fixed it by wedging a piece of paper in the corner to keep pressure on it). And to top it all off my suspension squeeks when going over bumps at slower speeds.

Best thing I've found is go in and glue all the screws you know you wont need to take out again with hotglue. Especialy around the speakers and inside of the door. And make sure everything will last the test of time. Lay down some rubber pieces where needed. Tighten everything up. As for the squeaky suspension, I'm dropping my car right after I get the cat-back exaust, so I dont really care too much.

Default SQueeeeek SCRatCHH.....STUPID WINDOW!!!!

My friggen driverside window made this hOrrible noise every time i rolled up the window. UGH!! Finnally i got so sick of the noise that I pulled over in the middle of the road got out and started to pull the window up and down, up and down. Alot of people were staring but they didnt know wut I've been going through these past couple of weeks.... so as i continued to roll them down then UP (sqwweeeek, Scratch!) I finnaly found out the problem it was a plastic molding right next to the mirror that was rubbin agianst it. so i took some armorall outta my trunk and sprayed it on a napkin rubbed it on the plastic and It Worked!!!

SO if you have sqwEEKING when your window goes up and down just take a paper towl spray alittle armor-all on there and rub it all along any of the plastic or rubber moldings that the window comes in contact with.

I just bought a 95 GSR. when I first got it I had numerous rattles and vibration noises. The first one I fixed was the loudest, it turned out to be a missing bolt in the exhaust system. The second one was the driver side window, it was missing the rubber fitting inside the rail that the window is supposed to be using as a track. The third was the heat shield on the cat. The fourth was an O2 sensor in the cat hitting the upper heat shield. the fifth was the latch on the rear hatch. I dont have a single rattle anymore (audible at least) If anyone has any questions about how I fixed any of these let me know.

WOW, I didn't know tegs rattled that much. Hmm, I haven't noticed anything like this in all the ones I test-drove. Are the rattles really apparent? What times do they come up, going over bumps? I would like to know so I know what to look/listen for.
