Default Psl's clean up/build thread

Finally found a car!

After searching the CL ads for weeks, I came across a 1995 GSR. The guy wanted $3500, I asked him if he could do $2700 cash, he said sure.

I went out on a limb, drove out 200 miles with my friend, and looked at the car. Compression test came back great. Went and took it for a ride for about 10 minutes, loved the car.

The guy was trying to make it a Type R replica, by pulling the side moldings, doing a 2000 front and rear bumper conversion, and put on Type R side skirts.

He never got around to filling the holes left from removing the side moldings, so they're open at the moment. I'm currently looking for them to pop back on, so if you have or know anyone with any, help a brotha out.

It's almost 5am, I got home about an hour ago minutes ago, and I left the house at 7pm last night.

Right now she's primered. I'm going to sand the whole car down again, reprime it, and have a friend of mine paint it. I'm debating on whether I should do glass black, or flat black. After it's painted, it's getting a top-dollar alarm, plus a car cover with an alarm built in that sounds off when it's lifted up.

Since photobucket is being sloooooooow as shit, I'll post pics when they're done loading. 13 pictures, and currently only at 33%.

Thanks man, I'm deffinately going to take care of this baby. The interior looks alot dirty than it really is. Probably because we have a yellow-ish light on the powerpole in front of the house.

Spent the car driving it, and cleaning up, and doing little misc. things.

I'll go to Honda/Acura on Monday and get the fluid for the P/S. I'm also going to see if I can get a case of Wix or OEM oil filters for a good price.

Until I start buying performance parts, I'll update the thread with small jobs and clean-ups.

Damn, makes me think I should have bought something that runs! I pad $550 for a completely bare shell!

Good luck, doesn't need all that much to bring it back to life.

The only thing it needs is shocks and paint really.

I'm going to buy a set of Skunk2 shocks, along with a set of aluminum LCA's, and a ASR subframe brace with the 22mm sway bar kit next week. Until then, it's going to be painted.

A little update:

The car should be back from paint later today, if not Friday.

Before it went to paint, I did this..

I'm going to be ordering a Mugen oil cap, and a couple more dress-up goodies.

Thinking about getting an aftermarket intake manifold, but want to see some real dyno shown power inprovments before I shell out the cash for one.

I also picked up a set of decent GSR Blades, for $170 with no tires. They're going to be stripped and I'm going to have a friend powder coat them bronze.

Was also thinking about picking up a set of emblems, and having them done in bronze, too.

The car came back from paint yesterday, around 5ish she was done from baking in the booth.

give it a few weeks to fully cure, and I'll cut, buff, and wax her, and she'll look like a million bucks. 2 coats of clear coat on it also. My friend surpised me on the color. I just wanted standard gloss black. The color he went with, has a lot of fleck in it, and at certain lights it comes of to a dark brownish green, which looks freaking great.

There's a couple dings that I missed, but they're almost impossible to see unless I know where to look and I'm within 2' away.

I just need to fix the ignition, and I'll be golden.
