I called the acura dealership in Santa Rosa today. They said its only
covered by the factory warranty, not the extended warranty. So
basically im screwed...unless somehow I can find the leak myself and
repair it. Any suggestions on how to find out where the leak is?

I can't believe none of you have heard of this. Most likely the water is leaking in through the taillights. Look in your taillights closely and you will probably see moisture. You've probably blown bulbs too. The gasket needs to be replaced, they need to be siliconed, and you need to make sure they're in tight. I've been there, done that, and the problem was fixed!!

common issue
This is a Very common issue with 'tegs. That body style seems to like to leak in the trunk and almost always its the taillight seals.
I would not even say you need to replace the seals, but take the taillights out and dry off the old seals and silicone them up real good and throw em back together. Prolly take you 1/2 hour to do both sides.

the leak could be coming from the hatch.
after i was my car (95 teg) and lift up the hatch water comes leaking out and lands in the trunk. so i dont know where it will go if i dont lift it up?.. also therer is water always coming out of the tails. hope this helps

do both
Put the silicone both between the seal and the lens...and also put a layer on the body of the car.
Usually I silicone the seal to the lens first then put around the mating surface of the body where the seal is going to contact and then install the lens.
Hope this helps ya
