Fuel or Spark
Two things needed for car to run. Fuel and Spark. I think from reading this thread that you have no spark. If that is the case then there are two things that will cause this. (even a car that has jumped time will fire the plugs...just at the wrong time) If you aren't positive if you are getting spark do this...
Remove one plug, reconnect it to the wire and touch the plug end to a metal part on your engine or somewhere around there so it has a ground. Have someone try to start the car and look for the spark plug to fire (dont touch...it feels cool, but it can be dangerous) =)
If you are not getting spark at all : and it sounds like you have replaced the distributor, cap and rotor. you have two choices again. Coil or Igniter.
You said the new distributor came with a coil? The factory ones do not include a new coil. (I dont think you did this, but make damn sure there IS a coil in there!) If it is for sure a brand new coil. Get an igniter for the car and put it in, your problems will be solved.
The igniter is a small square plastic and metal object inside the distributor and is bolted to the inside of the distibutor. Make sure when you replace it you get the wires on correctly. I.E. when you take the old one out check the wire colors and write down what order they go onto the igniter.
Hrm...side note....when you replaced the distributor did you perhaps get the order of these wires wrong?
Hope this little info helps ya.
