why does it go up even when im listening to a CD?

 

because it goes up when the headunit is on, regardless of what it's doing.

 

everytime the radio is turned on it send power to the antenna causing it to go up. alot of people put a little switch inline with the power antenna wire so they can control when it goes up and down.

if u get an aftermarket HU it only comes up when the radio is on...goes down when you're listening to a CD.

 

 

depends on the HU. maybe most do that, but my blaupunkt didn't.

 

i think Sony's work that way(antenna up only when listening to FM or AM)

 

yeah you could buy an aftermarket head unit or just disconnect the power to the antenna...thats what i did..it looks a lot better down. plus i dont listen to the radio so i dont really need my antenna but if you like to listen to the radio then dont do it

 

true... but what do you think of this:

My Kenwood always went down when the CD Player is running... but as of lastweek (for no aparent reason) it stays up all the time, wether the CD or radio is on. But it still goes back down when i turn off the radio or turn off the car.

Any thoughts on that one?
