why do 205's feel so different from 195's?

alignment is fine. Rides straight as an arrow. Just needed to get use to the snows. They have a different feel than regular tires.

Most likely because of the newness of the tire, your experiencing tread squirm. New tires have higher tread blocks than the one's your replacing, as generally you replace tires because their tread blocks are worn smooth. This is the cause for the floaty, disconnected feel you may be experiencing. Once in a turn though, all the tread is forced over and can't squirm around, thus with the greater contact patch and fresh rubber, you have more grip.

My Blizzaks tend to feel like my car is in a controlled slide all of the time. Normal for snow/ice tires.

Yep..my blizzaks makes my ride boucy..really absorbs those potholes.
