My teg: Stolen & recovered - but stripped & ruined... UPDATE w/ PICS!
Hey everyone. I live in San Francisco - two days ago my integra was stolen. It turned up last night and I went down to get it today. The condition it's in would make any teg fanatic break down and cry.
They stripped off anything of value.. the stereo (mp3 player), radar detector, cusco strut bar, cold air intake, comptech filter, etc.
They totally ****ed up everything else. There's **** scratched all over it the paint, the sides have been kicked in, steering column broken and hot wired, interior and random side panels ripped off or broken, airbags gone, bike rack gone, spoiler ripped out and gone, under the hood in addition to expensive parts being stolen, others are just broken or pulled, there is a whole bottle of hand lotion emptied into every one of the fluid reservoirs (oil/block, master cylinder, brake fluid, radiator, etc), a half eaten burrito jammed into various places in the engine, etc. Cigarette butts ground into the paint and interior, and unidentifiable sick smells coming from various places inside the car. Gas cap missing and appears to have *something* dumped in it...
I had to pay the impound lot $175 just to get it released, and another $45 to get it towed to a friends garage because it's far from being able to run.
The kicker is my insurance doesn't cover a dime of it.
Oh, the other kicker is that I'm still paying off the loan on this car, which I will continue to pay off another $1,000 or so for a car that doesn't really even exist anymore.
There really aren't adjectives for being as ****ed as I am right now.
I guess I'm posting to get opinions on what to do now - there is SOME stuff still salvagable on the car - the suspension w/ adjustable struts, the clutch & ITR flywheel setup, drilled/slotted rotors and the wheels are all still intact as far as I can tell. Then I guess a lot of basic teggy parts. This car was my baby - absolutly pristene condition.
I don't want to just sell it to some scrap place for $30 - but what else can I do? I don't have a garage or any tools here to part it out on my own (I just moved to cali from florida about 2 months ago). Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, if anyone is looking for specific parts I can check to see that they're in good shape - assuming I chalk up my losses rather than trying to fix the car I'll be selling **** very cheap.
Thanks everyone
PS - keep an eye on your tegs, I never want anyone else to feel like I do right now.

Damn man...
Well, parting it out yourself would be the first thing to do, but if you cant, I'd advertise the car for sale. You should still be able to get some good coin for it.
What exactly is left of the car?

I think *most* of the car is there mechanically... however, the fact that the fvckers poured lotion and **** into various parts in the engine means it would probably have to be rebuilt, right? Or at least flushed out somehow..
Assuming that they hadn't poured **** into the engine I guess all it would need to *run* is an airbox/filter setup. And the ignition is all ripped up too, probably quite a few electrical problems.

If you've only got $1000 left to pay off on the loan you should be able to cover that by selling stuff no problem. Seats, interior bits, brakes, shocks, etc etc. You'd also be surprised what little parts people will want to buy off of you that they never got around to because a new one is too expensive. Good luck man.

At least you got your teg back in a few days..my 95 GSR was stolen, only had 10K on it, and four years later (count them) I got a phone call from the police department and they told me that they found my engine in a Honda (what shame!)...insurance paid for my 96 GSR
