Default Cams

What are your guys' thoughts on Toda Spec B's, 00-01 Itr Cams, or Jun Type II cams? Which cam will produce the most power while still maintaining streetability for a GSR?

Toda B's eat rockers for breakfast...

ITR cams will give you the most streetability but the least peak hp. If I'm not mistaken the JUNI's are comparable to the ITR cams; I would just go ahead with some JUNIII's if you're serious about making power (JUN cams are notorious for retaining near stock idle...probably why they cost so dang much). People will recommend Skunk2's (cheaper price and almost identical copy of JUN) but I doubt Skunk2 has the same excellent customer service as JUN.

There are a lot of qualified people on this board who will probably chip in with different opinions but hopefully this gives you a rough idea. I personally was going to go with 01 ITR cams but I'm deciding to leave the engine stock for now.

if you get hot cams, is it necessary to alter the fuel map as well? like would i have to get a chip or a VAFC in order to run right?

V-AFC + tuning, or depending on how aggressive the cams are, hondata + tuning. You're best bet is in the engine tech forum.

What cams would be good for an LS, with intentions of a turbo in the nearby future?

Wait til you go turbo, then get some turbo grind cams.
