2nd gen GSRs don't have the secondary thing either... You'll know when you hit vtec. If you dont know, you don't have vtec.

Secondaries aren't a "stage" of VTEC. More VTEC motors come without a variable-length manifold than with it. Hell just the sheer multitude of B16's out there probably is more than all other VTEC motors combined. Add the B17, B16B, B18C5 and F20C and yeah, that's a lot. BTW the H22 and H23 both have a variable manifold and the H23 isn't even a VTEC motor.

I got a 96 GSR...so I should feel the VTEC "kicks in" around 4400 eh? I'll try and see...(or rather hear)

Thanks

p.s. my normal RPM is around 3000-3500...I rarely goes over 4000...

there are factors so that vtec can "kick in" though such as oil pressure, engine temp, ect

my GSR is stock other than an intake and i can neither hear nor feel when VTEC engages. when the secondaries open up its obvious though cause it gets louder and pulls harder. any car where you feel a significant kick when VTEC engages, has it set too high. :fawk:
