A CAI on a 5.0 liter V8 gives 20 whp h:
You'd be fortunate to get 20 whp from I/H/C/E. It's not unheard of, but most ppl don't expect such gains from a 1.8L 4-banger.
I'm not sure how valid the ads in magazine = biased magazine article. If that were the case 90% of the products tested in the magazines would fall under that category. Granted, they probably exagerrated the power gains but I don't trust everything I read from car mags anyways. Take it with a grain of salt. Maybe they had a fan on the dyno blowing iCy cOOl air with the engine hood popped and ice around the IM.

On a 2.0 i-vtec I personally wouldn't be surprised at hearing anything in the range of 10-20 whp. (considering AEM claimed 15 whp from their intake alone for the b18c1)
I'm not sure what a proper I/H/C/E setup on a RSX Type-S would net....but 15-20 whp wouldn't surprise me.

Actually, its true. Hondata got 20 some hp on an RSX by attaching a mandrel elbow pointing about a foot straight up in the air, and left the hood open.
And that's in addition to their 20 hp from tuning.
The K series engines have tons of potential.

Here's why. B series heads VS RSX head and S2000 head:
For additional comparison, here are port and polished b series heads.
Stock the RSX flows between 5% and 20% better than B series heads port and polished by arguably the best Honda head porter in the industry.
Honda didn't just release these new engines for the hell of it... there's some balls to be had.

There's definately potential from the K-series motors. Damn if those flow numbers don't prove it. Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what the volume of the combustion chambers is on that head?
Oh BTW, the CTRs that are raced in the BTCC competition are listed as having somewhere between 270 and 290 bhp (i.e. at the crank).

I'll zip Alaniz a message about the volume... hopefully he has that somewhere.

its true, there are more than a few S's out there with bolt-ons putting down 180-190whp, i just saw another dood with an injen sri + magnaflow catback with 188... that's insane
and while the hondata definitely doesnt produce as much as they say it does, its still good for a solid 10whp...
