Default what wire can i tap to draw power..

ok, im trying to set up a siren to a momentary button, also called a booty call switch(ya im a ricer lol). We tapped into the lighter but it kept blowing fuses. so my friend had this idea where instead of putting a 10 amp fuse, which kept blowing, in place he put a wire. i think its called a short:confused

but anyways as soon as he installed it, i pressed the button and the whole cabin started SMOKING . we found out that the wire we tapped from the button to the lighter burned!!!!@!

right now we are trying to find a safe source that we can tap into and draw power from it safely. anyone have any ideas on where to draw the power?

Just get a male flat spade connector, looks just like the tip of a flathead. Attach a wire to it, and plug it into an open spot on your fuse panel underneath the dash.

You must not know too much.

You can tap your power source in an open location on the fuse panel. You can run an inline fuse if you would like, but for the purpose of powering a booty horn, I wouldn't stress it.

I understand plenty.

The idiot shorted the circuit with a piece of wire after blowing a fuse using the stupid siren.

I repeat. Fuses are there for a REASON.
