Water Pump question....?
Last night my car overheated and there was no water in the waterpump. I refilled it with water and pored some water in the radiator. The engine was off and cooling down for about 45 minutes then I drove home for 50 miles. It didn't overheat at all, in fact it kept it's normal temperature. .....But these morning when I turned it on and drove it for 5 miles the temp stayed the normal stage but the water pump was empty. It drank all the water. My question is why did my car use up all the water in the pump? Whats the problem, can anyone help?
Thank You.
Thank You.

u mean the "coolant reservoir"? Not the water pump right? U dont fill a waterpump.
If its draining your reservoir, you might have a leak, did you check for leaks? Let it run idle on a clean part of pavement in a parking lot somewhere. Lie on the ground with someone "observing" the temp so that doesnt go high. See if there are any drips of any kind on a consistant basis.

did you just add water? and how many times did you only add water? the coolant .. which is in your radiator and coolant overflow tank should be a mixture of 50/50 water to antifreeze (the green stuff) you should go to a acura dealership to pick up a bottle of pre-mixed coolant. you could be boiling it off. check for leaks and check for white smoke out the tail pipe .. its either leaking, evaporating, or burning off. Get a new radiator cap while you are at it. .
