Nitrous doesn't blow motors, stupid people running it blow motors. I don't know anyone who's blown a motor on nitrous, but then again we know how to tune.

Stock GSR, 125 shot NOS plate kit...2 years, a bottle a week...still perfect compression.
Stock LS, 75 shot Zex, one year, numerous bottles.
Stock Lude, 75 shot Zex, two years, numerous bottles.
Stock LS, 125 shot Direct Port, one year, numerous bottles.

If you're blowing motors on a 50 shot, you're doing something SERIOUSLY wrong.

As for the mechanic, they don't know jack about nitrous or building motors. They know how to fix. They'll also tell you that putting on a lightened flywheel will blow your motor too

If you go to a 75, you may need to adjust your timing a tad, but not much (ask dubster for exact info).

I recommend the ZEX because it checks your fuel pressure and adjusts flow accordingly, so you dont lean out; it also ties into your ECU so its easy as hell to install on your own.
NOT TRUE, I have a del sol, ran a 15.6 on a d16 motor, ran last wed. after i passed the traps my powersteering went then the motor died, found out one fuel line from the Zex unit flew off, n how come the Nitrous computer didn't compensate n turn off the nitrous? i dunno. so now i have a melt plug that came from cylinder# 3 and no compression coming out of it, thinking it could be one of two things...pistion rings or melted or bent valves, in the process of taking the head part to check it.

Maybe try clamping down the fuel lines and you won't have this problem. The Zex kit does not have a nitrous cut feature, it simply adjusts the fuel pressure according to the pressure of the nitrous. But when that fuel line comes off, it's instantaneous that you're not getting fuel anymore...no nitrous cut feature is going to be that fast.

I did clamp it after that was only line i didn't have clamped down. can't be too safe...take the longer route, just took apart the head today finally, got to cracked exhaust vavles. probably just gonna change them all.

N.O.S. is good but ZEX is better if you tune the engine right you can handle 50/60 shots and not worry abouty tearing apart your engine
