Default Poping when Boosting...HELP!

So last night I was driving on the highway, just entered from a ramp, and felt like driving hard. Mad sure all temps were at normal before I dropped gears...they were...I did. I stepped on it in 2nd and around 6000RPM I felt a loss in power and heard POP POP. I was like WTF. So then I shifted into 3rd, gave it gas started boosting and again around 6000RPM it poped and I felt a loss in power.

Any idea what this might be?

Thanks guys

Sounds like a misfire to me or maybe it's backfiring?

Yes, bad or improperly gapped plugs will cause random misfires, especially on boosted setups in the higher rpms. It takes 5 minutes to pull out the spark plugs. Check them and get back to us. It could also be an ignitor or ICM taking a crap on you.

Default MAP sensor

not a boost guy myself, but just got done reading some posts that mentioned MAP sensors causing that issue in boosted setups. if the boost raises the Manifold Air Pressure above the threshold of the stock MAP sensor, it should give a check engine light, and cause misfiring.
