Default shift linkage

okay im swappin my motor with another everything is going great until i come to the shift linkage there is a pin on the main connection rod right next to the trans and the chilton manual says to use a 8mm punch which i have and tried but have come with no luck on getting it out, i have sprayed it with PB blasted trying to free it up and still no go. so all i have to ask is how can i get the damn thing out, even tried using a bottle jack and the pin trying to jack it up and push it out only thing that happened was it moved the car, so now im going crazy im just about ready to drill out the pin and get a new one

Beat on it until it comes out. Usually, it will take several minutes of intense hammer blows before it decides it wants to pop out. The best solution is an air hammer.

Ahhhh, the dreaded shift linkage pin...
It is a PITA to get out, but it will come out...
Do you have any penetrating lubricant like Aerocroil or something?

Jacking won't work, you need impact force to get it out...
