Default engine for 96 integra

Hey,
I just recently purchased a 96 integra with a B18B1 with an automatic. Great looking car but it does have a lot of miles on it. I could rebuild the motor and tranny for about 1300 for the parts or I was wondering about the japanese motors and trannys that are advertised. Are they any good or do they have problems with trying to adapt them to the american cars? I just want this to be my daily driver so I am not interested in doing any mods. Just wondering if anybody has done any replacement engines and trannys with the so called low mileage japanese engines and trannys and if so what were the problems? Also anybody have any particular company they recomend to get the parts from?
Thanks.

Your better off rebuilding that engine yourself. Use OEM gaskets, rings, bearings, and such.

There isn't really a problem swapping the motors from Japan, but you never know how many miles they have.

I purchased one of the japanese transmissions off ebay for my teg. Turned out it was from a CR-V even though the guy sold it as a teg transmission. It bolted right on for the most part but now my speedometer is off by about 10% since the final drive gearing is slightly different. Overall it runs good though.

I wouldn't even consider rebuilding an automatic tranny myself, maybe the engine but not an auto transmission. Getting a shop to do the rebuild will probably cost you around $2000, or at least that's from the estimates I got.
