Default Brakes

I need new brakes.

I was washing my car the other day and noticed my pads are due for replacement soon. I currently have Axxis Ultimates on there right now and I have been very satisfied with them except for them being harsh on the rotors and dusting like mad.

I have done a little research and came to these conclusions about potential pads:

AEM: Not much of an improvement over stock performance-wise, light dust, made by Nissin, $$$.

Axxis Ultimates: What I have now, super dust, harsh on rotors, great stopping power, low noise, I can get a full set for $70

EBC Greenstuff: Junk, don't bother.

Hawk HPS: I am hearing good things, low dust, excellent stopping power, moderate on rotors, $$$.

I want to get a set of decent pads for $100 or less. What do you guys recommend and where would I find a good deal on a full set?

I didnt like my Hawk HPS at all. and they dusted pretty bad too. Same goes for my friend's GSR.

I've never checked, but does Ferodo make pads for Integras?

Porterfield R4S are good pads as well.

i'm running hawk HPS right now, and i really like them.

amount of dusting i can't say because i installed them right before the steelies went on for the winter.

they're quick to grab and they grab nicely. i haven't yet experienced fading either. certainly an improvement over stock.

wait until spring for me to comment on the dusting.

he already knows that he doesn't like axxis pads. why should he stick with something he's unhappy with?

as for your other suggestion, ITR pads will not fit GS-R calipers.

I don't think Porterfields fit into my budget. Even with my discount at work, I couldn't get a full set of Porterfields for under $100.

These are what I am inclined to go with. The dusting can't be any worse than the Axxis pads and if you say they bite nicely, they should be exactly what I am looking for. Where did you get yours and how much did you pay?

I am not necessarily unhappy with the Axxis pads and the price is still pretty tempting but if I don't have to deal with the dust anymore with a different pad, I will try it out.

I have considered OEM but it just doesn't offer the braking power I am looking for.

Why are the greenstuff junk? Im running them right now and am pretty satisfied. Low dust, great stopping power over everything else i've had, but i think they're kinda rough on the rotors :hsugh:
