OEM for me now, they work fine.

I would have to run 17's and that is never going to happen again. An $1100 brake kit on the street is the epitome of overkill. I can't even imagine how expensive pads are for that beast.

It seems to be the consensus where I did my research. Several people said they experienced warped rotors. There was one guy that had the pad completely disintegrate just daily driving and had two sets of redstuff pads catch fire at a track day. I would prefer not to have a pad disintegrate, catch fire, or warp my Brembo rotors, so I will stray away from them.

 

Those Hawk HPS are sounding pretty good in your description. Low dust! Ya don't run those ebc pads out on the track, will eat your rotors. Might just want to stick with the Axxxis pads. I had them for the street and they worked well, just heard they will fade pretty bad on the road corse!

I am running the Hawk HP+ got dust? My white rims were gunmetal after a session at the track, haha.

 

I just bought the Axxis pads. h:

$70 is a steal compared to <$100 for any other set of pads.

kinda late but I got the HPS and I like them. my car is always kind dirty as it is but the dust wasn't noticably worse.. Summitracing.com had them pretty cheap. under 70 irc.

 

Thanks for the info. I checked out summit and the front pads are $60, but the rear is where they kill you by charging $45, so before shipping, it would be over $100 before shipping costs.

Also, I was doing a little more reading on the Hawk pads and a lot of people are saying they dust as much as the Ultimates do. I know the performance of the Ultimates is awesome, so I don't really see a reason to pay $30+ more for a minimal change in brake dust. :dunno:

 

I went with the Hawk pads on my NSX Caliper setup. Much more dusting than oem but I don't have anything else to compare with. I am not impressed with initial bite. My wife's RX300 has fantastic brakes and initial bite with oem( irrelevant I know but I want to get my brakes feeling like that).
I got the Hawks from Brian at Fastbrakes for $70 front only.

Seems expensive and that you don't like them very much. Maybe it is good that I stuck with what I know instead of overpaying for similar or worse performance.
