Default automatic...ugh...

ok, so my 99 LS Teg is an auto. Ok, so i was in the situation of i need a new car and i need one now, and i just happened to fall for the only integra nearby for sale. I didnt give a shit, its f-ing beautiful! so now my question ive been debating since i bought her is, what mods would be worthwhile without having to replace the tranny? Im on a budget but im not gonna buy shit parts, so PLEASE give me a little advise.

To be perfectly honest... leave the motor alone unless you are willing to upgrade the transmission internals.

Rather than lose money on modification or a trans swap... maintain the car and save up for a clean and pristine GSR when one becomes available.

You're just going to lose money and make more noise.
Keep your cash and save up for a DC2 or at least a manual trans DC4.

No problem...and if was a tad blunt, I meant nothing by it.
Welcome to the board.

well the idea of a new car is somewhat distant, for me, so i guess i just gotta be happy with what i got... until i can talk my girl into buying me a project car and ill let her drive the Teg... GENIOUS!

Oh and by the way, the completely stock auto STOMPED the 00 Civic my buddy drives (cant help but jab at the 6.5 billion civic drivers)

I'm more optimistic, or delusional if you prefer...but I have always said, if you are looking for some extra zing from the auto, adding an I/H/E to the LS actually feels worthwhile. I always base this on the one auto I took a ride in with these mods. to which I was actually more impressed than I thought I would be, as the car actually moved somewhat good.

seeing as there really is not much hope of a new car anytime soon, and i have the impatience of a 4th grader with ADD, i was planning to still do the I/H/E. What can i do to improve the tranny?

i'm gonna tell u what i tell all automatic teg owners. concentrate on your suspension and tires. that way when you upgrade to a manual trans car, you can just swap over the parts.

not to sound like a hater or anything, but you'll totally regret spending any good chunk of money trying to make your car faster. shooot even when i had a 5spd LS, i regretted spending money on things like I/H/E only to gain 2 hp. take your car to an autocross or drivers clinic instead.

a good set of tires (RT615's, NT01's, etc theres a lot of new tires out there that are basically R compound tires for the street) with even the most basic suspension mods (ITR rear sway bar, decent alignment, etc) go a looong way.
