It was LSD, and i think that the gear ratio might be a little different too.

Limited Slip Differential (LSD), exactally as the name implies.

The ITR tranny is the only B-Series which offered the LSD, here in America. In Japan, I believe the LSD was an option on the SiR-G (GSR).

The ITR gear ratios are shorter than GSR's, in both markets.

I don't think the LSD trannys have different gear ratios. All the LSD does is limit the wheel spin on one wheel and it evens out the torque to both drive wheels.

You're absolutely right as far as the USDM ITR S80 / Y80 transmissions are concerned.

We kept the same 4.400:1 final drive from 97 to 01, while the JDM iTR S80 / Y80 upgraded to 4:785:1 final drive in 1998.

To the OP: As far the LSD itself... the ITR had a helical (gear-type) limited slip which is ulmately the most durable solution. There are other types of limited slip diffs with different characteristics, but to learn the basics... go search here.

I was talking about a tranny with an LSD versus a tranny without an LSD. The gear ratios won't change.

Whoops. h:
And yes.. in a general sense the diff has no bearing on overall gear ratio.

And at the risk of being a total geek, it's absolutely the same deal for the USDM DC2 Integra.
The DC2 GSR and DC2 ITR both used a 4.400:1 FD. :run:

the usdm itr tranny has the same gear ratios and final drive as usdm b16 trannies and has an lsd.

96-97 jdm itr's had the same trannies. 98+ jdm itr's had b16 1-3 and gsr 4-5 gears with a 4.785fd and lsd.
