no you dont have to do everything at once. but lego building will leave you feeling slow and wanting more.

you'll be adding parts that wont be fully complimented without other parts. you put on a header that needs a better exhaust. these in turn need a better intake manifold. this now needs bigger cams. and so on so forth. since you wont be putting most of this stuff on yourself, that's even more money for labor.

Ic what you're saying. So like you said, say i was to get the header and exhaust to compliment it. Not getting the intake manifold wont make me slower correct, it just wont give me my full potential?

to start off with, you should do the basic i/h/e. you can install these things yourself with basic handtools and it will give you some basic knowledge about working on your car. you wont be any faster but you wont be any slower either.

but, if you really want to make power you have to spend the money on the good stuff. no dc or greddy crap. they make shit for power. look into the rage header for a not too expensive piece and match it to a custom 2.5'' exhaust. these are good building blocks for the future.

the reason why I dont have an intake yet is because I've been wanting the J's Racing Intake but can't install it on my car because of the GS-R's intake manifold. I would have to swap out the manifold for like a blox or skunk2.

About the header and exhaust. My friend has the same car as me and is thinking about buying the JDM Itr header and exhaust. Is he wasting his money?? Will he be getting any power gains? Worth it?

I myself don't know what exhaust or header to get it. Dont want a loud ass exhaust.

the j's intake is crap. get one if you like cf bling. thats all it's good for. a cai or sri with k&n filter is fine.

the jdm itr header is good for the money. you can use the heatshields to keep a stock look. as with everything though, there's better.

as long as your engine is in good shape and you can pass the sniffer you can pass the visual if you use the heatshields. my brother passed with his no problems.

hp gains are such a subjective and objective subject. many people will claim many things. best way to find out is on the dyno.
