Default A lessson Learned: Car Dealerships

Well since we are talking about bad experiances with dealerships...
Ok, so My current 92 Integra LS is my first acura...
I bought the car AS-IS and i will never ever do this again!
The dealership that i bought it from overcharged the hell out of me...and after 5 days the tranmission casing cracked...Ofall things the dealer told me it was my fault because the the damage was due to aggressive driving...(those bastards) I also had a hell of a time trying to get them to replace it. Luckily they did replace it with a 90 day warranty on parts, but not labor. Beleive it or not, a few days after that 90 day warranty was up, my transmission ceased to perform once again...I have a stage 1 zoom clutch which was already installed on the car when i bought it...the car has around 198,XXX miles on it and purrs like a kitten, but for some reason the tranny never wants to cooperate with me...
A hard lesson learned is to never buy a car as-is, as it usually spells bad news down the road...l'd honestly love to say DOWN WITH DEALERSHIPS, but i have visited many honest dealerships and there are many car dealers out there who will help you with anything, but, there are also those other car dealers who are shady and wont help you with anything once the car is sold.
Now I know to never buy another used car AS-IS.
Some lessons are best hard learned.

If you think about it if you buy a car off another private individual it is "AS-IS". Maybe you should have had someone check the car out before you got it or not buy a car with a zoom? clutch! Sucks that you are having so many problems. When something breaks just upgrade!

Yeah a full ASE certified mechanical inspection and compression test are well worth the money. Sorry to hear about the problems, good luck.

It's a 15 year old car! What kind of warranty do you think dealers should offer?

If it were my dealership I would warranty that ancient POS all the way to the end of my lot.

i never wil trust stealerships again (Opps i ment dealerships) they put on new tires on my car but didn't alien them they just tested the alainment by "Driving it" and seeing if it was ok. Wrong spark plugs were in my car took 4 hours to get out last one..... Next time i am going to save 3-4K by going to a private seller and having my friend inspect it. i paid over 8.3K for car at stealership with lowjack addon, secuirty system (900 and it SUCKS)

Its not the dealerships fault your an idiot. Lets review, your complaing about having payed to much, this is your fault for not researching prices before buying the car. Secondly if the car had issues so soon after you bought it, that means the problem was there BEFORE you bought it, had you payed to have the car looked at, you would have known about it. If they didnt let you have it looked at then that should have been a red flag to walk away from the car. There is nothing wrong with buying a car as is, as long as you take the time to know WHAT your buying.

hahaha...im an idiot?...haha...damn bro what is this like 3rd grade? I didnt know this would end up in childish name calling...hahaha...i never complained about the price, i just stated that i think i payed too much...THATS IT. Its just a story and im not bitching about anything..so calm down before you get all worked up.....maybe someone can learn from my mistakes before they go out and make the same ones i did. This was a while back and it was the first time i bought a car from a dealership. Ever since then i have never had another problem with a buying a used car and on the last car i bought , i have done my research on price, condition, etc...i just recently bought a near-brand-new condition 1988 mustang gt and have had no problems...everyone has bad experiances with buying cars every once in a while....Maybe bacause you made mistakes the first time you did something you were called an idiot...hmm who knows...

I have seen warranties on older cars so...hmm...maybe you dont know what youre talking about....? Diss on my car all you want man...hahaha...i think its funny..And besides, not all of us go and blow a shitload of money on a brand new G35 when you could build a much faster car for half the price...just my opinion though...heh...or maybe you are just going through some kind of old-man mid life crisis?

FYI I drive a 1992 ACURA INTEGRA every day to and from work. It's a reliable, old, semi-fun car.

If you've seen warranties on older cars why didn't you BUY ONE?

Yeah, a G35 sedan is a real mid-life crisis mobile

And if your so good at building super fast cars why can't you spot a LEMON?
