Default gm syncromesh oil

Hey i was told to change my tranny because of the grind!!! i called the gm dealer up they said 25 dollars a quart!!! So i went to autozone and saw some that said gm syncromesh manual tranny fluid!!! Is this the stuff i need? its a yellow bottle at autozone please help me thanks

have you tried another dealership and see if they have it for cheaper? i believe pennzoil makes the syncromesh and gm labels it as their own. so they should have the same part numbers. this is the one you want:

Why not just use oem honda mtf??

I've heard reports that newer Acura MTF combined some of the properties of GM Snycromesh while still keeping to the same viscosity that honda tranny's require. Good luck getting your local Honda dealer to admit it though.

I got mine for about $12 per quart. Maybe they were quoting you for two. If not, there are places on the internet that sell it.

the yellow bottled stuff you saw at Autozone was the Pennzoil synchromesh. its the same as the GM stuff at a fraction of the cost, so do your wallet a favor and buy the stuff at autozone.

also you may not want to go 100% synchromesh, you might want to do a quarter to a third synchromesh and the rest std OEM fluid.

well just changed the oil got it for 11.91 a quart!!! it shifts better doesnt grind 3rd gear no more and 2nd gear not as bad
