Default I am taking my Acura to a local Independent

Warning long..

Well since i have bought my Acura from Honda (WTF they are horrible at checking anyhing) i am taking it to a local Independent mecanic that my friend suggested to make sure nothing else it wrong... so far here is whats happened

1. Wrong spark pugs were installed in my car (Took me 4 hours to get it out with thhe help of my friend at Auto zone)

2. Alignment was REALLY messed up they installed new tires but checked the alignment by just "Driving it"

3. I think my CD player is almost dead (Skipping randomly)

4. They didn't even do a basic tune up on car (I did it myself when reminder matinence light flashed 5-6 times when engine turned on.)

5. they claimed they Changed my breaks but why are they making noises why i stop?

6. Transmition is what i am worried about the most it shifts jerky, (Not sure if its normal for this car last car i had it was but that one was a 79 Benz)

Overall i learned dealerships suck, are overrated, and overpriced.

Even my freken car alarm i had them install SUCKS, someone hit me and it did not go off. (They refuse to give me money back or make it more sensitive)

I will let you guys know what they find if something is wrong with trans theirs a probelm

right now warrenty only covers 50% of parts and labor and i feel that i shouldn't pay or will not pay for poor inspection of a car (That is even certified used) and i dont want to get rid of my baby i love this car to much. If somthing is wrong with trans or anything else what should i do?

The maintenance reminder light comes on automatically every 7500 miles and starts flashing when your getting close, regardless of any actual maintenance you've done to the car. Its just a reminder.

Did you test drive or inspect this car before you bought it?

not trying to rag on but you need to proof-read, not really sure what you were saying at a couple parts there..

as far as the brakes, it could be several things. the things I have found that will make your brakes sqeak are:

heat sheild- can easily get bent to where it drags against the rotor (you will hear it more around turns)

drilled rotor screws - these screws often get rusted and have to be drilled out. not a problem but they need to be completely removed or drilled flush with the hub. If there is a nub left it can keep the rotor from seating against the hub.

tight pads- sometimes the pads are to wide and won't fit in the bracket, if you jam them in they won't apply even pressure and they can squeak.

Yeah, I've had my share of terrible dealership experiences. I only go to one now if I need to buy a part that I can't find anywhere else. Damn salespeople are of no help there either.

I all 3 out in 5 minutes, but the last one was the wrong size for my engine and it took over 30 tools at autozone to get it out and 4 hours latter.. Problem was also that when we found the right size tool the spark plug was stuck and wouldn't come out anyways.

yeah dealerships can be a bitch. I'm happy to say that the guys at my uncles work place (Frank Leta Acura) know everything there is about my acura and they have never fucked it up. i usually just go to them for oil changes and other fluid changes, but would not let them work on harder parts like my tranny.
