Default $5500 too much?

Hey everyone. I'm new here, and have a quick question. I have a chance to buy a 94 GSR with 101K, red, 5spd., leather, etc.... for $5500 and was wondering if everyone thought this is too high or not. I can't find one for cheaper than that around here, b/c there is a pretty high honda tax(RICE!). I have been told that it KBB'ed at 4800, but I got $5600 retail when I searched it. I also have already ran it through an auto check for title probs, etc..., and it came out fine. It is located at a dealer, and I do plan on trying to talk him down a bit, but overall what are your first impressions?

tell me what yall think! Thanks, Keith

BTW: he is asking $5500 not $6000

honestly if i was in the market for an GSR with those miles, i wouldn't mind paying up to 6K, i say go for it. do you have any info about the motor? if everything is fine buy it man, the other day i saw an 1999 White GSR with 97,000 exact miles for $7,200 at an local dealer. so that price isnt bad at all, just my $0.02, good luck with the buy man.

Welcome to HAN man.

Yeah go for it if it checks out with an ASE certified mechanic, and don't forget to get it compression tested, that always helps. Good luck!

sorry I forgot about some info: Timing Belt, dizzy cap, rotor, plugs wires, oil, etc.... changed at 97K. Has records for most of the stuff. Also, a lot of other people were saying that $5500 is way too much for that year of GSR. Anyone care to elaborate on that? Any mods have any enlightenment to drop on me?

If these guys are telling you it's a good deal, I would be inclined to believe them.

hmm.. wheels are not stock, exhaust appears to be aftermarket (or the tip is missing), front badge is missing, and that VTEC badge is in the wrong place.

if i were you, i'd find out why. could be something simple, badges were stolen, etc, or was it in an accident? was it de-riced? etc.

otherwise, from pictures the body looks very good, and that is exceptionally low mileage for the year. price isn't awful, but it'd be nice if you could get it below $5k. remember, regardless of the condition and mileage, this is a 12-13yo car.

and of course the best thing would be to see it in person and drive it. if you decide you want it, get a compression test done and have it looked over by a trustworthy mechanic. good luck!

dosen't look bad, i would have to agree with RENO though, ask some questions about it, have it checked out if it is good tehn GO for it!!
