Blower fan not working...
Hey guys,
I have a 1990 hatch, and I'm having some problems with my cabin fan. The blower only blows some of the time and even when it does, it's not very strong and defroster for the windshield gets so fogged up in the cold, that I can't even drive it. Sometimes the fan comes on whenever I turn the knob for it, and other times it just stays off.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what might be the problem or what I'm going to have to replace? Is the switch known for going bad, or is the blower motor itself, and if so, how hard is it to get to to replace it?
Thanks for any help,
Jess

You might try hitting the blower motor from underneath the passenger side dash. My blower motor has been working on and off for over a year now. Someone suggested that I hit it pretty hard and it should kick on. Seems to work everytime. I don't know how much this will help but it's worth a try.

Thanks Teg, I searched around on some other threads and it doesn't sound like anything involving the switch. If one setting works, they all work. I'll try smacking it this weekend when I get back to house.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

If the car has never been fucked with I would say the wiring is good. With that being said, your motor most likely has a short and so it is working 50/50. Try replacing the motor instead of playing your chances. If it gets as fogged up as you say then it would be a worthy investment.
