I was having this dilemma too. I was thinking of going LS/VTEC. But if I just turbo it the right way and do some small stuff, I can get the desired HP I want. This was pretty informative. I think I will just do a head port and change the head studs and stuff, and just do a full LS turbo, because it is my daily driver, and I want reliable, but quick too.

Yeah, I think I will go ahead and keep the LS then. If I were to do do the LS/Vtec converion but didn't end up building the bottom end, I would still be fine if I didn't rev past 7500k - 8k correct? Also, what compression ratio should I use when putting in the new pistons? Should I keep the same one that's on the LS or should I use a higher compression like on the other Vtec motors?

if you're going with forged pistons and boosting it, keep the compression 9-10:1
