well, i wouldn't risk it. i can name a couple of reasons why i want it there, and i've definitely seen it listed as a crucial step. also, having the brake line secured like stock is nice.

To each their own, I guess. I have mine zip tied because I had GR-2's on before which had the brackets welded to the shock body and it has been working fine for 6 months.
