it cranks, but doesn't turn over.....unless u wait like 10-15 min....

it all started today, 2 plug wires came off my cap, and then stalled, I pushed into a parking lot and waited and waited, cranked and cranked, but never turned over!

so I replaced the distributor (reman) and an msd oe extreme cap and rotor...

car started right up, I was like 3 miles down the road and she stalled, like the title says, and 2 more times on the way home.....

I don't get it, it's NOT the alternater, that works fine and the battery is new as well

changed the spark plugs like a week ago (bosch platinums)

WTF is going on?!?!!? PLEASE HELP

 

You can start by getting us the check engine light code. :bandito:

Here's what comes off the top of my head:

Fuel pressure
Ignition system
IAC valve
MAP sensor
CKP/TDC/CYP sensor (in the distributor)

 

could be main relay or igniter(in side dizzy) just a stab into the dark

Can you tell if it's getting fuel?? Flooded/ing?? Smoke/stink like raw fuel when does start up again??

Try putting OEM ... Acura brand...ignition parts (cap, rotor, plugs) on there and try again. Some of the older cars do this when platinums are put in cars speced for non-platinum.

What year car??

 

Look at the title of this thread. Does it not say "check engine light comes on"? Common sense tells me that if the check engine light comes on while driving, then the ECM has stored a code or codes.

Wuts up guys i have a similar problem but i have a 99 acura 1.6 el. the engine light has been on since owning the car (about 4 mths) and it just started giving me problems in regards to shutting off and the smell of gas or something lingers wen in enter the car. I haven't seriviced the car properly since getting it cuz mechanics rnt giving me proper info on it any1 got any ideas? thx if any is in the toronto area of canada or has msn or sumthing add me or email me THX je_iii@hotmail.com

 

All we can do is give you suggestions/guesses. If you have a CEL, the computer's trying to tell you something. Get the code, then post back. Once you know the code and what's causing then you can find out way on how to fix the problem.
