A decent, adjustable suspension and stainless steel brake lines will make a huge difference. If there is $$ left over look to get some adjustable upper control arms so your tires do not wear on the inside.
Very true... I forgot to take camber into consideration.

By the time you purchase everything for a good suspension setup, camber correction, and an alignment -- you've probably almost spent your thousand.

As for the brake upgrade, unless your planning on dropping $1000 into a big brake kit, then its almost pointless. "Ebay Rotors" or the average cross drilled & slotted rotors are actually weaker than OEM. Brembo Blanks and a set of good pads would suffice. Unless your abnormaly hard on brakes...

I never realized how much camber was important until I lowered my GSR on H&R sports and go through tires like it is my job. Thankfully that is going to change soon.

Brembo blanks and good pads are a great choice and the first part of a brake upgrade should be stainless steel lines to eliminate flex in the rubber lines.

Yes, the replacement cost of good tires will buy 3 camber kit's! I replaced my shocks and springs at the same time. Don't forget to get an alignment.

Stainless Steel Lines, I've heard two views on them. First, they keep track debris from cutting your break lines. Second, some say they don't affect pedal pressure at all. I have no experience with them, although im considering getting a set. Did you notice any difference??

I have not put the lines on my car yet but have heard good things about doing them. They do help prevent flex in the rubber lines as they get hot from summer heat and brake use during racing.

You have a turbocharged car. I deffinately see your need for a big break kit.

I have AEM pads and noticed a big difference with them. Not worth the time to install the lines, next break job I'll get a set.

Ok, I did some research into the ITR and CTR cams. I searched around and read a bunch of stuff online and I referred to some books I have from Cartech.

It seems like with the cams, cam gears and proper timing adjustments I can make around 10HP Power Gain Article

Then I read about the installation Install Instructions but there is still one more thing that I haven't been able to find yet, the valve lash setting to use with an ITR cam. I figure since the lobes are slightly larger I would need to increase the lash slightly? And if so, but by how much?

Thanks in advance

No, actually ITR and GSR Valve Lash is identical. After you install the cam's, just do a valve adjustment to factory spec.
