Money and knowledge make for reliable power. If you don't have either, don't modify it.

And a real tuner doesn't need a mechanic.

Might I suggest being a bit more diplomatic with our members from overseas?

It seems clear to me that he's looking for a reliable source of everyday power.

Turbocharging would be the obvious answer, assuming there is a consistent supply of high-octane petrol and qualifed mechanics to perform the installation.

Sorry for the confusion guys....(my english is not that good) my point is tunning my car but at the same time making it safer... and yes it will cost much more doing them together. (no money no honey)

i'm not a mechanic ... that's why i'm here asking questions.

Here i can't turbocharge my engine because it's againts the law ..if the car you bouhgt didn't have a turbo from the company which built it... for exapmle honda cars are not turbocharged from the company so i can't put a turbo ... but for example for mitsubish evo 9 which has a turbocahrge i can put a better turbo...i don't know the law of your county but here sucks... Wow.:eek3:

Most of the members on this site are in the United States, and I live in Los Angeles, California. California is known for having very strict auto emissions laws, but our laws certainly aren't that bad. :hs:

I won't lie to you...without turbocharging, it will not be easy to get another 50 horsepower out of a motor that already makes roughly 100 hp per liter of displacement. 230 hp divided by 1.796 liters comes to about 127.7 hp/ liter.

That kind of specific output requires very high compression, aggressive cams and high-octane petrol. You would be spending thousands of dollars to essentially rebuid your stock motor into a racing-spec engine.

To be honest, a K-series motor swap, if allowable under your laws, would be the most reasonable approach for making 230 hp.

The K20A has been successfully transplanted into the 94-2001 Integra and Civic. And from the factory it already delivers more than 210 hp.

Since you mentioned that reliability is essential, I think it would be wise to swap to a motor with higher output, if your laws allow it. :hs:

Lastly, welcome to Honda-Acura.net.

Thx cheers

I can put a better motor 200 cc more (max)... mine is 1797cc... so i can put 1997cc... a K20A motor would be fine...(To be honest i was going tp change my motor)but for me personaly i don't want to change my motor :P becauce here i'll need to do lots of things to change it legaly. Signing papper, running to sevaral places and really i'm not up to that so I would prefere not changing my motor.
