Default 3rd Gear Grinds

Well another part i need to replace on the ever so long list of parts i need, i should find the last owner and kill him "aww i never had any problems with it in the last 4years" bullshit, bunch of sensors that i needed to replace that he didnt even tell me about. so my question is, my 3rd gear is grinding, but is ok if i shift below 4000RPM, do i need a new clutch, or new syncro, i was wondering where i can buy it and if i can like only get the 3rd, or even like 2-3-4 or even just 3-4, also any place i can get em for cheap.

I have the same problem. If I wind out 2nd gear, sometimes it'll slightly grind into third. not always, tho.

If the problems are specific to 3rd gear, that's a good sign that the issue is a worn 3rd gear syncro.

And before you go threatening the previous owner, aren't there other people who drive your car rather aggressively? I could have sworn that you mentioned that your uncle sometimes drives your DC2.

What's to say the abuse didn't happen with him at the wheel?

And you need college for money, so quit bitchin... j\k

Just to get one thing straight. You said before that you swapped in the b18c5. Which tranny are you running? Why would you put this on the previous owner of the car if you have a swap? And i assume you already tried switching your tranny fluid?

no no i was refering to some missing wires that caused the car to turn off at random, and a few missing fusses, he told me that he did an tune up before i bought the car, yes i did swap in the motor, and oh its an B18C JDM ITR motor and tranny. not an B18C5 just to clarify, im going to get the syncros, then comes the Exedy clutch. ohh and college is paid for, parents paid for half, the other half from scholarship. i just got to pay for my own appt. since i didnt like the dorm rooms very much.
