93 Integra GSR

Price? 93 Integra GSR
I am wanting to buy a GSR but wanted to know if the price is right. The body has 140,000 miles but it has a B16a swap with about 50,000 miles. The car has headers, exhaust, intake, rota wheels, eibach ground control coil overs, tokeko struts, and a few other small things. It has been auto-xed a few times though. It is great shape. All the work is perfect and clean. The body is totally rust free. It looks new body wise and mechanically. What would you pay, he is asking $6,000
Also, I'm selling my 99 Mercury Cougar! It's 5-speed with exhaust, eibach springs, KYB struts, poly bushings, and a SVT clutch. It's in great shape and runs perfect. It has 97,800 miles and I want 6,300 but might be able to go a little less.

Also some things to consider, since the car has been modded there's a good chance that the car has been beat on. Personal prefrence, your best bet when buying a car is buying one stock from someone older than 35 (not saying older people can't have fun too :-p).

It doesn't make the car any more valuable, if that's what you're asking.
The rarity of the 2nd Gen GSR is in it's engine and transmission.
Also, the seller is delusional if he expects to get $6k US for 14 to 15 year-old Integra.
Offer $3300. If the seller whines about all the money he's dropped on modifications, remind him that they aren't an investment in the car's resale value. I would go no higher than $3500.

No. The US market B17A1 engine and YS1 transaxle is worth a fair bit more then the Japanese B16A and matching trans. "JDM" does not always mean "better," in fact many G2 GS-Rs have been ruined with weaker (relative to power output, that is) Japanese B16A swaps. You are more generous then I would be. I see a B16A swapped GS-R as nothing more then a GS with a B16A swap, a cluster modification and a cheap pair of "VTEC" side mouldings. I guess I have a domestic "matching numbers" obsession.

There is a bit of a markup for Hondas down here in SoCal, so I guess I'm factoring an extra 8-10% in just out of habit. h:
I certainly agree with your point, however. And to be clear, I would only offer $3500 if the body, paint and drivetrain were truly flawless.

I'm a bit biased myself, an unusually large number of G2 GS-Rs have popped up on the market here in VA... about half of them now shelter B16A and B18A1 engines. The originals sell for $3500ish, while their bastardized brethren fetch around $2500... the average for a B16A swapped RS/LS/GS. :happysad:

I bought my 97 GSR in Richmond with 87k miles for $7000 including rims, bose sound system, header, intake manifold, AEM short ram, and stg 2 clutch. It is a sedan but Ive always loved things with 4 doors. Easier on insurance and makes more of a sleeper.
Therefore seeing as what I paid for my 97 GSR, I cant fathom spending 6 grand on that. If youre able to spend that kind of money look for something newer, something original, and something thats been taken care of. Looks can be deceiving.
