Default Opinion on PY 2000/1 ITR 45K?

I might be looking to purchase a 2000/01 ITR from a local guy. He says the car has 45K miles and is bone stock. However, It makes me wary because he later said he had installed nitrous capability but never used it.

My question is, if he used nitrous could it have mest up the engine? Is there a way too tell?

Also check out the picture... I see a ZEX cylinder thing, please provide feedback. I am in no hurry to boy and would prefer a bone stock ITR.

Peace,

Ole

it depends on how big a shot he might have used, and what he did to prepare for it.

The car is NOT stock. It's got an intake, header, and the ZEX module. There's no telling what he's done to the car and he's obviously lying. Walk away and find a different car.

Header, intake, spoon radiator cap, after-market oil cap, I see one red wire that stands out, plus the nitrious solonoid. Plus were is the solonoid plumbing going? It appears to me that he was running a intercooler sprayer. Normal nitrious setups have the solonoid mounted on the firewall then either a direct-port or into the intake tube.Ask him:

1. What mods have been on the car.
2. How much he wants for it.
3. Salvaged title?

That could be an old pic and at the time had those mods on it.
Check the carfax. I would just keep looking around depnding on the price he wants. If he wanted 10k and the title was clean and it hasnt been repainted then i would jump on it. Even if the motor blew up then you could spend 1500 bux to get it rebuilt. But if there are more itr's around you area then look for something else.

Oh by the way, I WOULD NUT FOR AN ITR!

I am going to pass it!!! Thanks guys. I have asked for the vin and he has not complied. It also feels fishy. He wants $15K for it.

I will just invest the money. If it sounds to good to be true, it just might be.

Ole I'll sell you my GS-R if your ass wants to come out to CA and pick it up. That Type R has had it ass pounded on I guarantee it. NOS capability? WTF? that means he sprayed not had it ready to spray but never got around to it. Besides dude, those wheels I sold you won't fit that car, they are 4 lug not 5 like the Type R. lol....
