Whats the difference from a b20b and a b20z?
I just paid the shop a visit...ends up my motor is a b18b with a b20b valve cover...he showed me the stamp on the motor that says b18b, and the valve cover says b20b.

The B20Z has a marginally higher CR, making it more suitable for a naturally apsirated tune (this includes the VTEC head swap).
But since you have the motor you wanted, the point is moot.

wrong motor
First, is this all in writing? If so, I would ask for the proper engine be put back
in at his expense. He clearly misrepresented his work and should be held
accountable. If you have a contract this could all be taken to court
if necessary. Good luck.
