Stock seats, brackets + belts? Tell the insurence company to forget it all happend:

Go down to the junkyard, give them $200 (or less) bucks and get your seats.

Nice leather gsr seats will be $300-500 front / rear.

Junkyard FTw, they always have them laying around (at least in SD).

You can try this website as an alternative to going to a junkyard:

Thanks for the posts.
I know it is asanine - but in the end they did decide it was totalled and I did buy it back....will be doing the whole salvage title thing.
So now I'll spend some time looking for seats and trying to re-assemble
I couldnt let it go!
Look for me at your local junkyard!

There goes your resale value..

It's too late now, apparently... but I would have contested their claim and fought to keep them from totalling it. h:

If you don't mind me asking, which insurance company was this?

I tried....believe me....everything. I think in the long run, considering what they gave me for the car and what I bought it back for, I will come out ahead.
Premier Insurance, in MA. All MA insurance is state regulated.
I know the resale is down - but hey, I got a good check from them for the car, and I got to keep her! Plus if I fix her myself, can run it into the ground....or small possibility of selling it to a private owner, right?
Fortunately I have a copy of the itemized list of what the insurance company said was damaged, to prove to whoever gets the car next that there was no engine or body damage in the claim. Which I feel like would be at least some consolation to a private owner.
In the meantime, cross your fingers that I'm handy with a power drill to bolt some seats back in!
I'll have some pictures to post later on if anyones interested in what the bastards did.

F that shit. Call them. I'm not being mean but use that backbone of yours and fuckin' fight that shit. It's YOUR car. They can't total it because of nonsense. Really man, fuckin' bitch and moan like a fuckin' crazy lady and I'm not kidding. Fuckin' do that. Because YOU'RE losing money on it. Don't be afraid to bitch, threaten them with switching companies, who fuckin' cares. Tell them to worry about their mother's health......okay, going a bit too far but you get my point. Perhaps it's not fully through, just call them and tell them it's over, switch companies if you have to. Just call and bitch....just call and bitch.

I repeated myself to get the point across, bitching gets you a long way. Oh, and if the person on the other end sounds like they're having a good day try the nice guy approach then fuckin' bitch if it doesn't go your way. Act like you're 5 after they don't give you what you want.

They cut you a check and you got the car back, but in the long run you will still be losing money IMO. Unless, like you said, you plan to keep the car for a LONG time. We all think we want to keep them forever, but rarely does that actually happen. Private sellers who don't know what a salvaged title means might buy it private. It is a good idea to keep the records of what happened though, to prove what happened if you ever decide to sell it.
