Just found this information so I figured I'd make a post about it. Might save some people some time. I'm sure the chart isn't 100% accurate since it is a couple years old, but it's a good starting point on tint laws. Plus, if searched upon, it could save alot of questions. If there ammends or changes needed, reply with the info.

Good info, but I think it is out of date for Ca. Last time I checked, it was not legal to tint the front windows at all (got 2 fix-it tickets for it, but they were dark). Having said that, I've done 3 cars with 50% (as a result of getting hassled) on the front driver/passenger and never had a problem with cops, even when pulled over.

 

yeah kinda outdated. cant tint front sides here in CA.

My sides are tinted. just waiting to get my first fix-it ticket :-p

Pa pretty much nothing is legal. I got pulled over and the law is "can only reduce sunlight by 5%"

 

Ive had limo on all my cars and never gotten shit.

 

i've had limo on this car and recently had to have it removed to get it checked.
