You guys' opinions on tires...
We've gone over this a thousand times and I could have searched, but I figured this board has been so dead lately anyway I'll just repost for my own good and find out some new, updated, answers. =]
In any case, right now I'm running Kuhmo Supra Ecsta 712's and they've lasted nearly 20,000 miles and I really have absolutely no complaints about them.
In a 205/40/17 they are slightly loud and a little rough (moving up to a 215/40/17 next time) but they are overall nice. They stick relatively well (good enough for daily driving, and decently hard cornering) and they have lasted a good time.
Well, I'm about due for new tires and I'm contemplating some Toyo Proxies.
What do you guys think?
Kuhmo's, Toyo Proxies... what else is out there that you would recommend?
Remember, ride quality and longevity is every bit as important as stick to me. I expect to get at least 12k out of the tires.
Thanks in advance.

Toyo Proxes (not Proxies dammit! ) T1-S are a nice tire. They're the spec tire for SCCA/Speed Channel World Challenge. Of course with the GT-class cars (450-ish hp to the wheel) you always see em sliding all over the place because even with huge sizes the realities of road-racing a 450-whp car on street tires overcome any goodness of said street tires. The TC-class cars (assorted Hondas, Proteges, IS300's, Bimmers etc) seem to be really fast on the tires though. Also take a look at the Bridgestone Potenza S-03. Pretty much the best out there.
Both of these are "real" maximum-performance street tires, so you'll notice a definite increase in stick and decrease in treadwear compared to the Kumhos. They should be fine for 12k miles though, probably a bit more.

Yokohama AVS intermediates. Great tire for cheap. They will not wear like the Kumho's, but I have driven both extensively and can say with confidence that they Kick ass. They will wear pretty fast, but ride well, stick and are quiet. I got about 30K miles out of them, with not too much racing around.

I personally have Bridgestone RE730s (215-40-17); haven't tested them in competition yet

My roomate is running the 15" Azenis, and they have amazing grip. Only problem is a shorter lifespan than other tires due to the softness of the compound, they get kinda torn up at an autocross event. I've also heard of problems in the rain with the Azenis as well, but he hasn't been able to test them in the wet yet.
