Default Cams

I am thinking about purchasing a 94 gsr and I'll have a few grand afterwords to put some performance parts on. I am going to do the cold air intake, throttle body spacer, header, exhaust and new ignition. I was thinking about putting some new cams in therem, not to extreme, but I was wondering if there worth the $400+? More power? More torque? What are some good brands of cams? OBX-R racing? Crane? Should I upgrade the valve springs also when I do cams?

Throttle body spacers and an ignition system are completely pointless. Those are not worth your money.

Depending on the cam, you may need a better flowing intake manifold, some sort of fuel management, and raised compression to benefit fully from what they have to offer. You will need something to change the vtec engagement point and alter the fuel tables if you want it to run smoothly after putting the cams in. Valve springs may need to be upgraded depending on how aggressive the springs are. It is really just a good idea to upgrade the springs even with a mild cam.

Agreed 100%. Any cam worth your money and worth running is going to need aftermarket valvetrain. Best bang for your buck, CTR cams.
