Default Will these bulbs work with my tail lights?

I just bought these tail lights on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...9286%26fvi%3D1

and I need to find some red bulbs to install with them. Are these going to work? Yea, I know I'm retarded but at least I admit it. I know it says they're red but it looks clear to me. I just don't want to buy the wrong lights. And if not, what do I need to look for?

lol well to answer your question YES they are red....reason they "look" clear is cuz they're not regular bulbs with filaments, the ones you brought are LED's.....they look clear but once you hook em up they light up the color they're originally told to be lit

Ok, cool. I have a friend who's a lot more experienced with the aftermarket car stuff, I'll have him there to supervise me while I work on the project. I also found these lights on eBay:

Are these cool, and are they legal? Or are they for nerds who are trying to be cool? I don't want to be that guy.

Welcome to 1997.
Those clear taillights are so played out they're positively ancient.

Despite the seller's claim about being DOT legal, I would anticipate a citation from your local PD. Back when these were popular, they were a common source of fix-it citations, despite the use of correctly colored light bulbs.

Since the damage is done and you've already bought the lights, I'd recommend one of three solutions:
1) Find a way to get out of the sale.
2) Buy the lamps and re-sell them elsewhere.
3) Use a tinted aerosol clearcoat to paint the lenses or bulbs prior to installation.

If you feel like tempting fate and going with the third option, I would buy a set of clear brake light bulbs and paint the bulb glass red using Krylon's "Stained Glass" tinted clearcoat. It's the cheapest way to produce red light from a white lamp bulb.

Do yourself a favor, though.. hang on to your OEM tailights.
That way, if your are cited for these things, you can get the ticket cleared quickly and at little expense.

You got that right. I found out the hard way. But I'm good to go now - no more fogging up on me all the time. I just need to do the same with the new headlights I installed Tuesday. Why do all the aftermarket light assemblies fog up on the inside? Can they not go ahead and seal them correctly at the factory? It's not like we aren't spending a lot of money on these parts, ya know?

I don't see why those bulbs would not work as long as it calls for an 1157 bulb, they should fit. I may get a couple of those kind of bulbs (the first ones) to replace my hokey dull parking lights on the front.

Good luck!

p.s. In my case, some jackass backed into me while I was inside the bank and the turd just left. Broke both of my OEM tail lights. I replaced them with some that I think aren't too gay, but I'm a girl, so I can get away with a little more gayness too.

I never understood why people downgrade their tail lights.
